history
The year is 1900. There are 45 States in the Union. William McKinley is the president. Work has begun on New York’s subway system. And in Shelton CT, 29 men and 27 women who loved to play golf founded the Highland Golf Club.
The name “Highland” came about because the club was founded and is located on one of the highest points in Shelton, with outstanding views of surrounding hills and valleys.
Today, entering its 125th year, Highland continues to thrive. The golf course is challenging, yet fair, and always perfectly conditioned.
Much has changed at Highland over the years, but one thing hasn’t – Highland is still a great place for to play golf and make friends!
